Snuggling with the Kiddos!

This morning we woke up to a lovely rain. Well before the rain Evan was actually up at 5, he wanted some milk. Got him milk and back to bed. Then I heard little feet again at 6, "Mom, I can't sleep." Ok get in bed with us. Marti woke up at 6:30 to eat and Evan was fast asleep. So we just snuggled up in the bed and listened to it rain all morning. We are just hanging out in our sweats and about to eat some yummy pizza and salad. Such a sweet morning! Here are a few pictures from our weekend!

Eating all the icing!!

Marti chilling with her Uncle Mike!

Marti enjoying the duck pond!

Sarah called last night and needed to reschedule Marti's photo shoot for next week. I know I was so excited, but I am kinda glad we didn't have to get up and get ready. Snuggling with the kiddos was much more fun! And the rain is still coming down....looks like more snuggling this afternoon.:)

Lovely Rain!

What's going on?

Lets see....where to start?

I plan out our meals and make menus every week or sometimes by months. HEY! Don't make fun of me, I am a busy momma of two and a teacher. Since I have some time on my hands I have been searching the web for a few new recipes and found a great website. Go check it out.

http://www.momswhothink.com/recipes/recipes.html

I enjoy planning out meals, that way I know exactly what to buy at the store and if I am running late Cory is able to start dinner when he gets home.

Ok moving on....
The big birthday party is Sunday afternoon. Evan has been telling everyone about his "Thomas the Train" Birthday!! I am excited to see all the kiddos and hang out with the family. Be looking for pictures!!

Evan starts swim lessons in a week and he is super excited. He will be doing semi-private lessons, which means one teacher and two kids (the same age).

Marti will have her very own photo shoot Tuesday morning. I am so excited! One of the photographers (Sarah) that Cory works with at our church will be coming to the house to do the pictures. She likes doing the pictures of little ones at home just in case they get fussy or need to be fed. I think its great! I can't wait!!! Sarah will also be doing our family pictures next weekend. Super excited!!! In return Cory will be shooting her family..nice trade off!! I think so!!
OH- Marti will be wearing a tutu and the biggest bow....I can't wait to post the pictures! Do you think I am excited.....just a little!!!!

Cory went to the doctor Wednesday for a check up and all was good. The doctor wants to see him in 6 months.

Tonight we are going to eat out, run to Sam's and then hit the pool. Hope you have a great weekend.

Enjoy!

Not Much Going On....

Life around the Brownlow house has been pretty calm. Thank goodness. Cory has been at work and we have been just chilling at the house. Evan does his usual watching toons and playing in the playroom. We paint, cut, glue, tape, and make creative things. We have really been working on writing his name. He has the "E" down, now on to the other letters. We read, sing, dance and pretty much act silly. Wondering where Marti is during all this fun...she is right there with us. She loves it and she just smiles. Evan is so great with her! Then its lunch time..Evan helps and he enjoys doing dishes. He also likes to help clean. You know you have to teach them young.:) After lunch its nap time, rarely do Marti and Evan nap at the same time but every once in a while they do and I get a nice little break. That is when I get things cleaned up from the morning or check messages.

We are teaching Evan to swim, the boys went swimming last night for a hour. Evan loves the water, just getting him to let go of you is a different story. He will be three Monday....I am still wrapping my brain around it...(3) wow!!! The big birthday party is Sunday at our pool.

Cory has church band practice tonight. I am sure Evan will want to go and us girls will have girl time, I love our little girl chats.

I am still going through some pictures I want to scan and post. All in good time. Right now my days are pretty much filled with changing diapers, feeding, playtime, swimming, cooking, luandry, little giggles and cute story. I love every minute of it!!

You know its about to be July....where does the time go? I started thinking about it last night. School will be starting soon. YIKES!!! Ok...lets not think about it anymore. Sorry for all the random thoughts. Have a blessed day.

Oh I almost forgot in all my randomness...

Nana Margie, Evan LOVES your cookies. He wants to eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. While eating a cookie...Evan said, "I LOVE NANA'S COOKIES!" We might need you to make a few more!!!

Love you all,
Crys

Thoughts....

I like to keep a journal of saying, quotes, and other things. I love writing in a journal and hope to share with my kiddos one day. If you didn't know, now you do. The journal contains things that are funny, sad, meaningful, spiritual, and things that really make you think about life. I like to take it out and reread it when my minds starts to wonder, its helps me stay focused and reminds me of what is important and what is NOT. Well, today was one of those days that the world can just get the best of ya...so I pulled out my journal and started reading. Here are a few of my favorites.....

"Out of my mind, be back in five minutes."

"Do Not live powerless lives, but live in HIS power."

"Feed your faith and doubt will starve to death."

"Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, Satan shudders and says...OH NO...She's awake!"

I could sit here and type out every one of them for you.....maybe some other day. Hope your Wednesday is a joyous one! HE makes ALL things work together for my good!

HIS Grace is Enough,

We had a great weekend! I am so glad we are feeling better. Saturday the boys trimmed the trees and worked in the yard while us girls cleaned house, cooked lunch and did laundry. After lunch it was time for a nap then we headed to the baseball stadium for the Rockhounds game. We had a good time, it was so WINDY! Sunday we went to church, had lunch, took a nap, and the boys played golf while us girls hit the mall. Here are a few pictures of our weekend.

I heard a little knock on the door....Here's a flower for you mom.

Two cute kids-If I do say so!!!

Update: Cory is feeling much better! I am so glad. He is such a huge help around the house and with the kiddos. WE LOVE YOU DADDY!

Have you ever had a song bring back a memory or an event? I was driving the other day, going somewhere with the kiddos, and I heard a song that just got my brain running. If you like country music maybe you have heard the song "The House that Built Me." Plus, we have our high school reunion coming up in a few weeks and it hit me 11 year since I graduated and left home! WOW!!! I love keeping up with everyone on facebook, but it will so fun to SEE them! Cory and I got to talking last night about high school, awww...memories!! We even stayed up extra late 10:30 haha! You know that's where we first laid eyes on each other. The love of my life, we are truly blessed. I think I will have Cory get the old yearbooks down from the attic, its time!! I can't wait to hear what Evan has to say. I will post some fun pictures of the good ole days as they say even though these days are pretty great! Here's to a happy Friday and a joyful weekend!

Enjoy!

Doctor Update.....

Update on Cory: As you all know this started out as a really bad sinus and ear infection, so they gave him meds to help. But what we didn't know was that this med can make your blood pressure sky rocket, which it did. So they are watching his blood pressure for the next two weeks and they put him on a different sinus med, the cat scan showed a lot of sinus build up in his head so that is what they think is causing the severe headaches. He had more blood drawn Wednesday and everything looks great. We are just waiting to see what this new med does. Cory has returned to work and I talked to him at lunch and he said he felt pretty good. Not out of the woods yet, but a little closer.

Happy Thursday!

Just Hanging Out

Today we are staying home and resting. The kiddos and I have been up at school cleaning my room for the last two days. My classroom was a mess, guess that's what happens when you are on maternity leave for the last 10 weeks of school, not that I am complaining. I love being home with the kids. Next year I am moving to 1st grade, so excited! Just waiting for a teacher to get all her stuff out so I can move mine in. Evan is playing in the playroom and Marti is taking her morning nap. Cory will be home soon to get ready to go to the doctor. Let you know when we know! As for me, its time to clean and do laundry and figure out what to cook for lunch. Here are a few cute pictures for your Wednesday.

Sweet Girl!

Smiling for Daddy!

I saved the BEST for last!!!

Is this picture funny or what?!?
I wanted to take pictures of the kiddos and Evan wanted to
watch TV. Poor Marti! LOL
I said, "Evan, watch how you are holding Marti."
Evan replied, "Mom, I got her!"

Smiles for your Wednesday!

And She Smiles....

Marti has been smiling for weeks now but I couldn't catch it on camera. We did today! Enjoy!

Smiling so big that it made her eyes close!
Look at that red hair!

Update: Evan is over the tummy bug! Cory is still sick, we spent Saturday afternoon in the ER, after blood work and a cat scan we still don't know. All test are normal! He has a regular doctor appointment Wednesday so we will see. In the ER, his blood pressure was way high and he had a major headache so we were thinking high blood pressure, but his blood pressure has been normal the last few days and he still has a headache. The doctor Wednesday wants to see all the blood work so hopefully we will know something soon. Waiting and praying!

Blessings,
Crys

The Bug

Evan is going on day 5 of this awful stomach bug. He had it a few days last week and I thought by Friday we had kicked it, he felt great over the weekend then it started again. I was concerned that it might be something else so I called the doctor yesterday and talked to the nurse, she said the tummy bug is lasting about 10 days. YIKES!!! That is a long time for a little one to be sick. Evan has done a great job of making it to the bathroom in time, but his poor bottom. The kid has had more warm baths this week and we have had many great chats, played games, read books, and even named the potty (FROGGY). Evan picked the name. I mean if you have to be in the bathroom for a while and your tummy hurts you might as well have a little fun. POOR BABY!! Evan got up a few times last night with his tummy hurting, but seems to be feeling ok this morning. He is snuggled up on the couch and watching Wonder Pets. Cory is still not feeling all that great and on top of that I have had a sinus headache for two days. The only one well is Marti and I hope hope she doesn't catch any of this. We are all sick of being sick, but for today we will just rest and pray this ends soon.

OH- the only thing Evan wants to eat is OREOS. He said,"MOM, I love cookies."

Take Care!

A Few Sweet Moments....

I was sitting here thinking about the last 8 weeks and how times truly flies by. That's right, Marti is 8 weeks old. Where does the time go? We are so glad she is here!

Ready to go home! 2 days old

So Sweet! Great-Granny and Marti

Oh Evan's chin! He spent the night with Cory's sister and the three kids the night before
I was induced. The girls had a soccer game, Evan and Parker were
playing on the play ground and Evan busted his chin on the slide. Brandy was so upset that he got hurt and I was in the hospital.

Enjoy!
